Braeside Golf Club
Established in 1947, Braeside Golf Club has a storied history. Initially playing at Beckenham Place Park within the London Borough of Lewisham, it was forced to relocate due to decisions made by Lewisham Labour Council which resulted in the closure of the much-loved and profitable golf course.
In 2016, under challenging circumstances that saw our cherished venue shut down, Braeside Golf Club moved its operations to Selsdon Park Golf Course. This transition was met with a mix of emotions as we sd farewell to the park's greenways but welcomed the opportunity to continue our golfing tradition.
In November 2021, a significant change occurred when the Selsdon Hotel and Golf Course complex underwent ownership changes following its sale by De Vere. This event led to the closure of the course at which we had been playing.
We would like to sincerely thank Caroline and her dedicated team for their outstanding stewardship over these past five years. We are now proud to announce that Braeside Golf Club has found a new home at Farleigh Golf Club.
Our club continues its vibrant tradition with ongoing competitions, such as monthly medals, summer and winter knock-out tournaments including both singles and doubles, along with approximately twenty closely scheduled events spanning from April through October each year.
The pinnacle of our annual calar includes the Men's Club Championship-a 36-hole stroke play event held over a week in September-and Captn's Day, which stand as highlights of both our competitive and social agas. As members of the National Association of Public Golf Courses Clubs NAPGC, we actively participate in the Penfold League competition for clubs within Southeast London and Kent.
Braeside Golf Club is an inclusive community that welcomes golfers from all backgrounds, gers, and levels of expertise. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or enjoy golf as a recreational activity, there's a place here for every passionate golfer.
